Mr. Ravindran Govindan

Mr. Govindan studied law at the University of Singapore and practiced as a solicitor in the supreme court of Singapore. Throughout the years, he diversified into various business interests. As a serial entrepreneur, he co-founded numerous businesses in markets including Singapore, Malaysia, India, China, Australia and others.

Mr. Govindan is the Chairman of Mercatus Capital, a private equity venture firm specializing in the emerging technologies, bio-tech, IT, retail and energy industry. With an eye to spot talent and a will to make every business he engages in succeed, Mr. Govindan spends his time managing operations of his portfolio companies and assist the management in developing strategic acquisition programs and revenue enhancement initiatives. Along the years, he gained a reputation for his unlimited passion, fierce competitiveness and extraordinary business foresight.

Besides having strong entrepreneurial skills and well-established business network, Mr. Govindan also provides legal and business consultancy to private and public enterprises, financial institutions and highly influential individuals in this region. He was involved in several large scaled acquisitions both in public and private enterprises, such as the privatization of Myanmar Airlines. Formerly the Group President of Fisher Scientific in the Asia Pacific Region, Mr. Govindan continues to provide strategic advice on Asia Pacific Region for Latona Associates Inc, a private investment and financial advisory firm based in New York.

Mr. Ted Ong

Ted Ong has had 41 years’ working experience in the marine and offshore industry. He did Nautical Studies at the Singapore Polytechnic and held a Second-Mate (FG) certificate.

Ted started his career in 1963 with the Merchant Navy working with Shell Eastern Fleet, Maple Hill Shipping and Guan Guan Shipping. In 1968, he joined the Port Authority of Singapore (”PSA”). In 1975, he left the PSA as a Controller of Shipping to take up a marine project management appointment with Sealand (IRAN) Shipping Co. in the Middle East. Completed the project towards the end of 1975, then joined Chuan Hup Holdings Group, specialize in shipping for the oil and gas industry. Ted is still with the group, currently serving as Director/CEO of CH Offshore Ltd.

Ted is an elected member of the American Bureau of Shipping and a member of the Det Norske Veritas Singapore Shipping Forum. He was a Council Member of Singapore Shipping Association (”SSA”) since its inception in 1985 till 1997 when he held the position of First Vice President. In 2003, he was again elected onto the SSA Council and is now serving as Honorary Secretary and Chairman of the General Affairs Committee. Ted has also been a director on the Board of the Shipowners’ Mutual Protection and Indemnity Association (Luxembourg) since 1993.
